Operator Panel

Operator Panel

How Did the Operator Panel Emerge?

The operator panel is generally the area that allows a machine operating in an automated manner to be controlled by an operator. Due to their production methods, PLCs are designed as closed boxes. You can access a more detailed product review from the link. However, the only open point of this closed box is its panel. Through the panel, the user can see the status of the machines and, at the same time, intervene in the system when necessary. Panels, which are vital in this regard, are also the key to benefiting from the system as you wish. Thanks to the panel, all information in the system comes before the operator, and thus the person can very easily identify areas of malfunction or places that need correction.

Usage Areas of Operator Panel

The operator panel is a technology that emerged as a result of need. The increased use of machines after the industrial revolution created the need for another machine to manage these machines. The PLCs that emerged as a result managed the machines, but did not present information about the machines to their users. In the ongoing process, although attempts were made to correct this situation by adding lights or similar things to PLCs, it was not a complete solution. As a lot of cables started to be included in the additions of lights or similar items, some malfunctions and accidents began to occur. As a result of all these developments, the idea of placing a panel on automation devices was put forward to meet the emerging need. The operator panel has a very wide usage area, so much so that every device with any automation has a panel. In this way, machines whose movements are controlled can be directly intervened in case of any incompatible operation with each other. Operator panels, in the sense we know them, are particularly encountered in large industrial facilities. In these facilities where many advanced machines are located together, both the machines' own panels and the PLC panel are present.
