The Difficult Parts of Product Development

Product development is an iterative combination of different disciplines to achieve a specific goal. The disciplines include design, engineering, manufacturing, distribution, market positioning, marketing, distribution, and sales. A company developing a product must consider every stage of the process from the end perspective, the ultimate buyer, backward, and then forward from the design. Thus, the process can easily become iterative. As a formal process with different aspects, product development can be broken down for analysis, discussion, and commentary. In real experience, and especially in a small business environment, product development tends to be many other things. the process is likely to be more creative and therefore chaotic.
