Ovens Used as Rubber Curing Machines
Features of Rubber Curing Machines
In addition to hot air tunnels used in Rubber Curing processes, ovens are also used. They are also referred to as tunnel ovens. The heating elements used for heating are, as standard, arranged on the inner side walls. Generally, these types of tunnel ovens have fans. You can see product details for Rubber Curing Machines at . These fans are placed at the bottom inside the oven and operate at specific intervals, distributing the heat generated by the heating elements throughout the oven to ensure it reaches everywhere.
Conditions Caused by Rubber Curing Ovens
In Rubber Curing ovens, there is no direct connection in the arrangement of fans and heating elements. They perform their functions independently of each other. In other words, the heating elements do not produce heat with the air brought by the fans. The fans are responsible for distributing the heat generated in the environment. At this point, they differ from hot air tunnels because the distribution is carried out by the fans, as hot air is not used directly. Due to the heat not being distributed directly by the heating elements, the temperature of the heating elements can vary, and this variation is generally referred to as high heat.
- In Rubber Curing ovens, due to the high temperature of the heating elements, the rubber materials get scorched by the intense heat as they pass in front of the heating elements. Even with materials composed of thick cross-sections, if scorching occurs, homogeneous curing cannot be achieved on the inside and outside, which prevents vulcanization.
- Due to the fans being located at the bottom of the ovens, the airflow at the bottom causes the bottom to remain cold. This makes the top of the conveyor belt hot while keeping the bottom cold, thus preventing the vulcanization of the rubber products.
- Since the heating elements generate high heat, the temperature inside the belt becomes high. The working temperature of a Teflon belt is a maximum of 260ºC, which, against this high heat, causes the Teflon belts to scorch and tear, leading to breakage.
- The high temperatures generated by the heating elements cause frequent breakdowns. Primarily, heating element failures occur.
